The brain is inherently plastic, which makes it possible to learn. Damage to the nervous system often results in pathological forms of plasticity that increase disability. The goal of this conference is to discuss the potential to direct neural plasticity to improve recovery from injury. Recent studies using novel devices, drugs and behavioral techniques suggest that significant advances in the lab will soon be translated to improve neurorehabilitation. Presentations will be targeted for physicians, therapists, engineers, and neuroscientists.
