About Thomas Campbell

 

Thomas Campbell completed his BA and MA in communication disorders at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and his PhD in communicative disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining the faculty in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences in 2006, he was was a professor in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Director of Audiology and Communication Disorders at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He is currently the Ludwig A. Michael, MD, Executive Director of the Callier Center for Communication Disorders and the Sara T. Martineau Professor of Communication Disorders.

 

Research Interests

 

Dr. Campbell's research focuses on the identification of physiological, environmental and genetic variables for the early identification of speech and language disorders in children. His interests also include the development of communication technology to improve the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with communication deficits.
