Dr. Jana Hunsley teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, development, and early childhood disorders. Her research interests include childhood trauma, family systems, and development/effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for foster and adoptive families. Dr. Hunsley is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked for over ten years in clinical settings that support children, youth, and families who have experienced trauma. Now, her clinical work primarily focuses on providing support to children and caregivers who have been impacted by foster care and adoption. She trains professionals and consults with organizations both nationally and internationally to meet the needs of all members of foster and adoptive families more effectively. Dr. Hunsley earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University, her master’s degree in social service administration (social work) from the University of Chicago, and her master’s and doctorate degrees in experimental psychology from Texas Christian University.
