Brendon is a doctoral student in the cognition & neuroscience program with a concentration in music cognition. He works at the Music Perception and Cognition Lab led by Dr. W. Jay Dowling. He earned a bachelor’s in music education from Northwestern State University in Louisiana in 2010 and a master’s in music performance with a concentration in percussion from the University of New Mexico in 2012. He was band director of Old Mill Senior High School in Millersville, MD from 2012 – 2018. He earned his master’s in applied cognition and neuroscience from UT Dallas in the Summer of 2021. Brendon’s research interests include statistical modeling of music perception, the intersection of music and language, and the neural processes associated with music listening.
