Open Rank Faculty Positions in Computational Neuroscience

The Department of Neuroscience at The University of Texas at Dallas seeks to hire up to two tenure-system faculty members (open rank) with expertise in neural coding, neural computation, neural control, or using approaches at the intersection of neuroscience and artificial intelligence as part of a computational neuroscience hiring initiative. The goal of this cluster hiring initiative is to develop an internationally recognized computational neuroscience research and educational program at UT Dallas that leverages and extends existing University expertise in systems and cognitive neuroscience, neural device development, and machine learning. The ideal candidate would conduct highly collaborative dry lab research in areas of focus aligned with departmental strengths in learning and memory, decision making, motor control, sensory perception and pain, or neurogenomics. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to their area of expertise.


Open Rank Faculty Position and Director of Clinical & Translational Research Center

The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) seeks to fill a tenure-system late Associate or Full Professor faculty position with a scientist leading an established clinical research program and qualified to serve as the Director of the Clinical & Translational Research Center (CTRC) at UT Dallas. The CTRC is a Center jointly supported between the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and the UT Dallas Office of Research and Innovation. Researchers assessing pharmaceutical or device-based interventions with FDA oversight (approved IND or IDE) will be prioritized for hire. Applicants leading rigorous clinical trial programs outside the oversight of the FDA will also be considered. This position requires an active research program with current extramural funding, publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, a record of excellence in teaching, and a history of institutional and professional service.
Successful applicants will be appointed to the Department of Neuroscience, the Department of Psychology, or the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing. Faculty members teach undergraduate and graduate level courses within their discipline and area of expertise. Joint appointments are possible and cross-listing of undergraduate and graduate seminars facilitates multi-disciplinary student education.

Associate Professor or Professor of Psychology and Department Head

The Department Head will provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Department of Psychology, ensuring alignment with the academic mission of the School and University. This individual will collaborate closely with faculty and school leadership to enhance curriculum design and delivery, while supporting and promoting high-impact research across the department’s core areas. The Department Head will lead efforts to develop and implement new academic programs that reflect institutional priorities and emerging trends in the field. A key aspect of the role is fostering a culture of academic excellence. The Department Head will also represent the department in school-wide and university-level planning and governance, mentor faculty across ranks, and support their professional development. In addition, the role includes oversight of departmental operations, including budgeting, staffing, department strategic planning, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures.

Open Rank Faculty Position in Artificial Intelligence Psychological Science

The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is accepting applications for a tenure system position for a faculty member whose work interfaces with artificial intelligence (AI). Candidates with postdoctoral training or equivalent research experience are preferred, especially those who have led or contributed to multidisciplinary teams bridging psychology with computer/data science. We welcome profiles spanning: (a) ML/AI as advanced statistics; (b) core AI/generative technologies; and © computational social science. Strongest consideration may be given to applicants who apply modern AI pipelines and tooling to substantive psychological questions. Evidence of an emerging or established record of high-impact publications; experience building reproducible, well-documented code and analyses; and potential (or success) for extramural funding are highly valued. Ideal candidates can connect AI methods to psychological theory (e.g., cognitive modeling, language and social behavior, clinical assessment, developmental science), teach AI-in-Psychology courses effectively, and mentor students from a range of backgrounds. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate responsible/ethical AI practices, open science commitments, and a collaborative approach that enhances BBS research centers and cross-school partnerships. Candidates at all levels will be considered. Teaching responsibilities could include undergraduate and graduate level courses in artificial intelligence in psychology, cognitive science, and/or courses in the applicant’s area of expertise, as well as mentoring of doctoral, master’s-level, and undergraduate students.

Open Rank Faculty Position in Neuroimaging of Brain Health

The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is seeking to hire an open rank brain scientist with expertise in neuroimaging, specifically magnetic resonance imaging. UT Dallas maintains a state-of-the-art MRI facility within the Brain Performance Institute in the heart of Dallas equipped with two research dedicated 3T Siemens Prisma scanners capable of synchronized acquisition. BBS has a vibrant and growing MR imaging community that spans multiple centers and a growing portfolio of imaging-centered extramural funding at our Carnegie R1 institution. To increase the representation of expertise across MR modalities in the study of the human brain and behavior, we seek to recruit a faculty member to join the Department of Psychology. This hire will be affiliated with both the Center for BrainHealth and the Center for Vital Longevity and will be important for the continued growth of the imaging community within BBSand across UT Dallas. The specific area of research within psychology is open but MRI is expected to serve as a core research tool for the faculty member’s program of research and investigators studying brain health and function are highly desired. This position will contribute to coursework within the undergraduate degree programs in psychology and cognitive science, master’s in applied cognition and neuroscience programs, and PhD in cognition and neuroscience program. Teaching responsibilities would also include mentoring of doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students.

Open Rank Faculty Positions in Clinical Psychological Science

The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is adding two full-time tenure track positions (open rank) with a focus in psychological clinical science. We invite applicants with strong programs of research and who have strengths in applying novel methodological or analytical approaches to their work. A successful candidate should be well-funded or have high potential for funding. A sophisticated line of research related to psychopathology or clinical science that connects in some way to that of current departmental faculty or augments and extends existing programs is essential. Preference for one of the positions will be given for complementing existing department strengths in child development and/or expertise in early childhood disorders or child psychopathology. Additionally, we are particularly interested in candidates whose research agenda emphasizes achieving representative samples in research, particularly regarding the influence of social and cultural factors on psychopathology and disparities in mental health access and/or outcomes.  Responsibilities include contributions to clinical training, research mentorship, and undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in psychological clinical science. Both positions will serve as core faculty in the psychological clinical science concentration, which is currently seeking provisional accreditation through the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System.

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining websites that align with the School’s strategic goals and branding standards. The ideal candidate will also possess strong graphic design skills to create visually engaging content for web and digital communications.


Academic Support Coordinator – Psychology

The Academic Support Coordinator (ASC) works with program leadership on the full cycle of student recruitment through alumni status and interacts with interested stakeholders and administration through various methods and means. The ASC will contribute to process improvements and implementation in their perspective areas. They will be responsible for a variety of administrative and program delivery duties, including student course enrollment, milestone markers, student recruitment, admissions, and student professional development.
