Mariam is a PhD student in the psychology program, focusing in the developmental area. She works in the Family Research Lab under the advisement of Dr. Jackie Nelson. She graduated from UT Dallas in May 2019 with a BS in psychology and a minor in economics. Mariam’s research interests are broadly focused on the influences of cultural values and parenting on children’s social and emotional development, particularly in ethnic minority families.
