The Department of Psychology includes three master’s degree programs and two doctoral programs

Applied Cognition and Neuroscience MS

The Master of Science in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience (ACN) degree provides students with advanced training that incorporates methodologies and approaches from such diverse fields as neuroscience, experimental psychology, artificial intelligence and human-computer interactions. The scope and multidisciplinary nature of the degree make it relevant to students interested in preparation for doctoral programs as well as for those seeking careers in software development, engineering, education, psychology and medical professions.

Human Development and Early Childhood Disorders MS

The Master of Science in Human Development and Early Childhood Disorders (HDCD) degree prepares students to work with young children (birth to five years) and their families in early childhood intervention programs and parent education in professional settings such as schools, non-profits, hospitals and clinics.

Psychology MS

The Master of Science in Psychology (PSYC) degree provides advanced training in psychology. A strong emphasis of this program is research training, helping serious student scholars become more competitive for nationally prominent doctoral programs in psychology as well as for applied careers in areas such as program management, data analysis, and research science.

Cognition and Neuroscience PhDCognitive Neuroscience Track

The Cognition and Neuroscience PhD program has two tracks: cognitive neuroscience (in the Department of Psychology) and systems neuroscience (in the Department of Neuroscience) The cognitive neuroscience track encompasses all aspects of cognition, including studies of perception, memory, reasoning, decision-making, neuroplasticity and neuro-engineering, and it offers training for students seeking to become leading scientists and scholars in the field of cognitive neuroscience.

Psychology PhD

The PhD in Psychology program offers advanced study and research training for students seeking to become leading scientists and scholars in the field. Research in psychology encompasses studies of mental processes and behavior across the lifespan, including investigations of cognitive and social-emotional development, relationships, cognitive processes, and personality.
