Larry Cauller Undergraduate Research Travel Award
The Larry Cauller Undergraduate Research Travel Award supports undergraduate neuroscience majors who are doing research in a Department of Neuroscience faculty member’s laboratory. Applicant must be the first and presenting author on a presentation at a neuroscience-related scientific conference. The individual requesting travel must be currently enrolled and must be in good academic standing
Rules for Funding
- Award must be approved by the NSC Travel Awards Committee at least 2 weeks before the conference.
- Applications should be sent to neuroscience@utdallas.edu.
- Applicant must be a currently enrolled undergraduate neuroscience student presenting work from a BBS Neuroscience faculty member’s lab.
- Applicant must be the first and presenting author on a presentation at a scientific conference.
- Only one trip per academic year funded.
- If funds will be used for air travel, the flights must be contracted through the approved University vendor.
- Funds can be used for registration, travel, food, and/or lodging only.
- Number of awards given may vary by academic year.
- Amount awarded may vary by academic year.
- All expenses for which the awardee wishes to be reimbursed must be validated with an official (dated and itemized) receipt. Each awardee should turn in their receipts to department Administrative Assistant at neuro.travel@utdallas.edu within 2 weeks of return from conference.
A Completed Application Includes
- Completed Larry Cauller Undergraduate Research Travel Award Application
- Research Advisor Form, completed by the student’s research advisor, identifying the specific contributions made by the student to the project
- Resume or CV — including education, work experience, honors/awards, publications (abstracts and manuscripts), etc.
- Proof of acceptance of research submission
